No actual poison seemed to be included in the apple.“The Luck of the Chimney Sweep” History and Folkloreĭisney’s Mary Poppins features an entire song based on the luck of the chimney sweep. The look, taste, and textures were all over the top. There's an apple slice baked into the bottom. The seasonal Apple Tart was a nod to Snow White's poison apple! It happened to match my shirt perfectly. This tart was insanely great.This one is year-round and always delicious yet a mess to eat with chocolate falling everywhere once you take a bite! The Matterhorn Macaroon is a coconut macaroon topped with white chocolate (not to be confused with the sandwich cookies/French macarons). ![]() The flavor and those fat fresh berries will always steal my heart! The cookies and cream mummy was exceptional! In years past the mummy was salted caramel and they're both top-notch. Bluewas our least favorite because it was a little too sweet.Three Mickey shaped macarons: blue is the Frozen themed Arendelle Aqua Macaron, white is the seasonal Mummy Macaron filled with a cookies and cream filling, red is the classic Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron filled with whole, fresh raspberries and raspberry mousse.The baked goods at Jolly Holiday are always the best part, let's be real! We got carried away and ordered FIVE. You may not be surprised to know that we ate at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, as we typically do! We ordered the same things we always get: I get an iced latte and the Jolly Holiday Salad, Renee gets the Roast Beef and Manchego Sandwich, and my niece gets the kids Macaroni and Cheese. Now that we've ventured together all the way to Walt Disney World in Florida together, and my niece is hardly little anymore, this felt super special. This is our favorite tradition and one we've been doing together since 2014. The day after we partied at Oogie Boogie a few of us went back for another park day at Disneyland. It was our original girls crew: myself, my sister-in-law Renee, and her daughter and we spent a full day running around the park together. Originally I was hesitant to go to the specially Halloween party because I love a classic and sunny park day but I LOVED Oogie Boogie's Bash and would highly recommend going to it if you get the chance. These weren't your daily lineup of Disney favorites it was the VILLIANS! Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella, and more. My favorite part was the Villians Grove where you could meet many costumed characters. Treat bags are distributed to everyone and the candy was generously distributed. The party really took the experience up a few levels! There are "Treat Trails" where kids and adults can Trick or Treat inside the park. Every Halloween detail was just right for the season this year. Bryce and I were Mary Poppins and Bert the chimney sweep from (the original) Mary Poppins, we had Merida and her mother from Brave, Miguel and Hector from Coco, and Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame! It was so fun to be in character in the park!ĭCA is always fully decorated for holidays, you may remember I admired the Christmas decor a few years ago. This party is the one and only time a year where adults are allowed to visit the park in costumes! Did you know that you're NOT allowed to go to the Disney Parks in costume? Our crew of 7 were all dressed as Disney Characters and we looked great, if I may say so. We arrived just after 4:00 pm and stayed until about 9:30 pm. By the time we went on October 12, all of the tickets were totally sold out for the rest of the month! The party starts at 6 pm but you could enter the park, in costume, as early as 3:00 pm. They held the party a few nights week throughout September and October. This year we visited DCA for the Halloween Party called the Oogie Boogie Bash! It's a special event that requires a separate ticket purchase.
